What is the deal with that ovaltine

                                     It is not even shaped like an oval

                                                      It is a cylinder

                                     It should be called cylindertine

                                         On at 7:00 the hilariousness starts

                                            Channel 14 it was channel 16

                                               Right before the Simpsons

                           With friends like George Castanza the jobless clutz

                                        Cosmo Cramer the crazed funnyman

                                                         Elaine the only girl

                                        And Jerry the professional comedian

                                               Yes nothing beats Seinfeld

                                            Nothing except the Simpsons

                                                                 And myself

                                               But that is another poem

                                         (a writing exercise from a photo of a bear running in water)

The bear was last seen in the buscamos woods yesterday at 10:47 pm.  Local rednecks asked to comment on this bear refused to answer.  ” This bear is so ninja it could take on the yeti, the abominable snowman, and Chuck Norris at the same time”  says Joey McNelson, a local hunter and former Chuck Norris fanatic.  The only known photo was taken by Mr. McNelson.  What he failed to capture was the squad of navy seals that attempted to neutralize the bear.  Authorities are warning locals to not approach this bear.  They are telling you to call the hotline if you see the bear.  The number is, 1-800-what-the-crap-im-going-to-die-2784.

I may just look like an ordinary house.   I sit on a lake.  I have a nice looking porch.  Colorful chairs,  pretty windows.  That’s just part of their plan.  To make me look like a happy house,  where a happy family lives.  Don’t believe them.  I hold secrets.  Some that you would not believe.  But you must trust me.  Events took place here.  But I’m not sure if you want to hear them.  Do you?   You do?  Well there’s no way you’ll make me tell you.  But I will tell you the result of one of the events.  In the closet in the parents room on the second floor, on the top shelf there is a box.  In the box is a head.  She has blond curls and freckles.  She has blue eyes.  She is the daughter of this “happy” family.  

The dew would freeze,

and that was how I knew

it was the time of year she’d wither.

The time of year she’d tell me over and over

how beautiful it was,

while her skin was crumbling.

Ice that chilled,

was ice that broke

and drew spider webs

on the network of veins.

The pattern traced on her irises

was the same I saw on my hands,

and I suppose in that way we were the same,

however briefly.

Yet difference is inbred,

and bred in her was disease.

With lost support came destruction,

and collapsing walls brought loss of limb.

I would watch her turn to dust.

You were once made of metal,

and looking glass lined edges.

You cut jagged tears

in fabric,

and fingers merely slipped away.

Movement left no echoes

and you left no sign

the flame of life still possessed you.

Then you melted.

Heat from my own hand

causing shapes to slide out of focus,

and your sides to morph for raindrops.

And inside your crust

now came impurities.

Dirt and pebbles lined your lips

and caked over your eyes.

Emotion was injected

into your very core,

now warm,

and delicate.

It was then that you re-froze.

edges returned to glass,

pliable no longer.

Yet you didn’t know,

that, like steel, carbon

made you brittle.

Hammers took up the call,

and,

before long,

cracks riddled your surface

and prying fingers

unable to grip you before,

caught hold, and

tore you apart.

My little brother,

His name is Tommy

Freckles all over his face.

I call him Tootsie Boy.

When it’s time for him to go to bed,

I kiss his nose.

He wipes it off.

But secretly I know he likes it.

He tells me freckles are angel kisses.

I guess lots of angels love him.

They kiss his whole face.

He can be funny.

He told me he wanted Daphne, from Scooby-Doo,

to be his girlfriend.

I laugh at that.

He’s already six.

But however old he is, he’ll always be my my little brother.

And I’ll always love him.

My little sister.

Her name is Lucy.

I call her baby girl.

Even though she’s almost five.

I love it when,

she asks me to do girl stuff,

like painting nails, and doing hair.

Sometimes she buys clothes like mine.

And when we’re both wearing tanktops,

she smiles.

I love the way her eyes light up.

When you say something funny.

Her laugh fills the room,

Neverending.

She gives me hugs and kisses, which I like very much.

She is such a beautiful little girl.

I’m glad she’s my little sister.

And I love her very much.
